Compiègne is an historical city surrounded by the third largest national forest and located along the Oise River. A royal and imperial town, Compiègne was the scene of major events in French history and the city of residence of Kings and Emperors from Louis XV to Napoléon III. The magnificence of the Compiègne  monuments and museums evokes its rich historical past :

  • Imperial Palace and Theater
  • Car museum (first Renaults dating from 1900...)

  • Second Empire museum

  • The Armistice Glade (First World War)

  • Statue of Joan of Arc,....

Compiègne is also a city for horse people and houses one of the National Stub Farm (The Great Stables).

Compiegne is a nice town to discover with a lively downtown area with numerous shops and restaurants. This city offers also many advantages :

  • 45 minutes train journey to Paris (Gare du Nord)

How to reach Compiègne and the Innovation Center ?

By Train

From Paris-Gare-du-Nord station, take a train bound for Compiègne or bound for Saint-Quentin (check if it stops at Compiègne !) (50 min journey, 15.4 €, information and tickets: here). From Compiègne railway station to the Innovation Center take the Bus Nº 5 (free of charge, bus network map : here) and stop at the G. Denielou bus stop or take a Taxi in front the railway station.

By Air

The closest airport to UTC is Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle international airport (named also Roissy-CDG or Paris-CDG or Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle). From there, you can reach Compiègne by

  • Taxi : contact us for more details (recommended company and prices). The travel takes around 40 minutes.
  • Train : take first the train shuttle RER B from Roissy-CDG to Paris Gare-du-Nord station (30 min journey, 10 €, information here) and then follow the instructions : By Train.

If you land at the Orly airport, take the Orlyval Metro to station Anthony (9.30 €, Information here), then take RER B to Paris-Gare-du-Nord station (Single Metro Ticket: 1.80 €, general information : here) . From Paris-Gare-du-Nord station, follow the instructions : By Train.

By Car

From Paris, take the highway A1 (Direction Lille) and exit at Exit Nº9 (Compiègne Sud). GPS coordinates of the Daniel Thomas Innovation Center : 49°40'14.93'' N/ 2°79'68.30'' E. More detail on the access map here.
